SANTA MARTA - EL DORADO

This unforgettable adventure includes two nights of comfortable accommodation at the reserve, expert guides, and opportunities to see some of the rarest and most sought-after bird species in Colombia.

On day one, we'll pick up clients at the airport and transport them to the lodge at the reserve, stopping along the way to watch birds and take in the stunning scenery. In the evening, we'll have dinner at the lodge, where we'll discuss the upcoming birdwatching adventures and prepare for the next day's exploration.

On day two, we'll set out early in the morning to explore the San Lorenzo Ridge, where we'll have the chance to see a variety of endemic bird species such as the Santa Marta Toucanet, White-tailed Starfrontlet, and Golden-breasted Fruiteater, among many others. Our expert guides will help us identify and appreciate each bird species while sharing their knowledge and passion for birdwatching.

 

In the afternoon, we'll return to the lodge for lunch and some rest before heading out for an exciting nocturnal birdwatching session. This is a unique opportunity to observe some of the elusive and fascinating nocturnal bird species that call the reserve home, such as the Santa Marta Screech-Owl and Black-fronted Wood-Quail.

On day three, we'll explore the El Dorado Reserve in search of more endemic bird species such as the Santa Marta Parakeet, Santa Marta Warbler, and Santa Marta Bush-Tyrant, among others. We'll have plenty of opportunities to observe and photograph these beautiful birds while learning about the unique ecology of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Throughout the tour, we'll enjoy delicious meals made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and comfortable accommodation.
